There are some 3 simple steps, which are mentioned here that can help us in getting really powerful muscles and an amazing physique. We should follow these steps carefully in order to become strong.
Progressive overload:
It is the fundamental principle for building muscles. It is where we start doing the weight workouts or resistance workouts, which we can handle initially as a beginner. Then as we become fit, we gradually increase the amount we lift. We can gradually add more weight as our muscles get stronger, and we can do the complete movement in the workout.
If we can lift around 200 lbs of weight in the dead-lift or do squats for around 5 repeats initially, we should practice these weights at the beginning and start to add some amount of weight every week, say around 5 lbs and lift a weight of around 205 lbs and then 210 lbs the next week, and continue to increase it as long as we can do it without too much strain. This is a slow and gradual method for increasing our muscle strength.
Maximize Tension in Muscles:
The key for building muscle strength is tension. Strength can be defined as how the muscles in our body create tension. The muscular tension is equal to the force and force is equal to the tension. We can increase the tension on the muscles to the maximum by lifting heavy loads very often.
If we consider the body weight workouts, then if we can manage to do 100 normal push-ups each day, we can try doing around 5 one-armed push-ups each day. This is less number of reps but increases the tension in the muscles. This can help us develop more power over time. This is the reason behind the strength of famous power lifters and body builders.
The last step is the Multi Joint workouts:
This is an absolute rule for building the power of our muscles. We should not waste time by doing single joint workouts like bicep curls. We have to focus on doing some other compound workouts like pull-ups, since this trains not only our biceps but also traps, lats and shoulders and such type of compound workouts are really good for our health.
These types of workouts can help in stimulating the nervous system. They spur the natural growth of our muscles and our growth hormone can act on different muscle groups, helping to increase their size and strength.
